This litter of 4 boys and 7 girls is a love match between our beautiful silver Standard Poodle, Rahab, and our cream Miniature Poodle, Davy. Both parents have been tested and cleared through Embark. This is Rahab's and Davy's first litter together....and it was a match made in heaven! FUN FACT: Silver Poodles are born black and then they fade to their silver color. They begin to fade around 6 weeks of age. They will reach their adult color and size by the time they are 2 years old.

Big yawn by Coral!
This is a video of Cozy Cozette at 12 weeks old. She is the daughter of Pippi and Buddy, and loved and trained by Dixie. She got her novice trick dog certification at a very early age. She gives you a good idea of how pups from this litter will develop.

Pups learn how-to-howl with their awesome teacher, Miss Dawsyn. Reef proved to be top of his class although the others weren't too far behind. Class is in session!
We have been working with them every day to teach them basic beginning commands so they have a strong obedience foundation for you to build on. Here they are in their outdoor playpen. Aren't they adorable?!
Dixie started training them to commands starting at 6 weeks old. Training sessions are upbeat, positive, and very short. It's amazing what they can learn in 5 mins!
Our puppies go through "puppy school time" every day. Puppy school always includes a daily grooming session. By introducing them to the noise and vibration of the clippers on a regular basis, they begin to anticipate grooming time with a fun, relaxed, bonding attitude instead of "Somebody help me! The sky is falling" type of attitude. Disclaimer: Dixie looks rough in this video. LOL Raising pups can be tiring work!
From the beginning we start utilizing feeding time as training time. We feed no more than 2 at a time. This enables us the ability to work on manners. We focus on getting them in a calm state of mind so that they don't "frenzy feed" as many puppies do. Frenzy feeding happens because a puppy feels the need to grab and gulp down as much food as possible before its litter mates eat it...a survival of the fittest mindset. Since they are not wild pups starving to death, we expect them to act like the proper Poodles they were meant to be. Later on, we also use feeding time to work on environmental desensitization while they are in this happy, calm state of mind.
Sunny and the rest of the litter all learn so quickly. While training you have to go with each individual personality and allow them to lead the way during training. Some are a little more focused than others. Some are a little more energetic than others. But ALL of them are super smart and want to learn and please you.
Pippi's due date was on Sat, June 5th, but it seemed like Pippi wanted the weekend to herself. Then, at 3:45 am...yes, that is A.M...Dixie feels a slap across her face. Not a loving slap of a wet tongue, but a big, heavy paw slap! Quickly following the face-slap, Pippi decides to use both front paws to stand on top of Dixie's chest. Between the two, she was very successful in waking her up. Dixie opened her eyes to find herself staring into the open mouth of a panting dog literally 2 inches from her face. Immediately, she knew what Pippi was trying to tell her. "It's time!" The birthing pool was set up in the air-conditioned garage located right next to Dixie's room. Not wanting to be the only one to enjoy this miraculous event, Pip and Dixie woke up Lee (husband...Dixie's husband, not Pippi's!) and their youngest daughter, Dawsyn. Pippi was thrilled that they were all there waiting on her hand-and-foot and bringing her everything she needed to get through this life event...including spoon-feeding her cold, vanilla ice cream (which has lots of calcium!). We were all there ready to assist her in whatever way she needed while being very careful to not be too over-bearing. We allowed her birthing experience be as natural as possible. When necessary, Lee did an amazing job of quickly tying off umbilical cords using floss which helped stopped the bleeding of two of the pups. Pippi showed her gratefulness to him with tail wags and face-licks. All 8 of these beautiful pups were born between 5:00-8:00 am with Reef being the oldest being born at 5:05 on that early Monday morning.
Pippi had an easy and healthy pregnancy, thanks to genetics, nutrition, and a vitamin regimen and she stayed active throughout it, only slowing down about 2 days before delivery. She had a very easy delivery and made a quick recovery. She has been a wonderful mother to her babies!
